Transport Rules

Every student and parent using the school bus is expected to follow these rules.

The school may withdraw the transport facility on disciplinary grounds. Please read these rules with your child.

  1. Students using the school bus must be at the pick-up/drop point with their escorts at least five minutes before the bus arrives.
  2. School buses do not wait for latecomers.
  3. Communication inside the school bus must be in English only.
  4. Students must not step onto the main road until the bus arrives.
  5. Students must not approach the bus door until the bus has come to a complete halt.
  6. Drivers and bus attendants are there to serve students and keep them safe. Students and parents must follow their instructions; arguing or misbehaving with them will lead to withdrawal of transport for that child.
  7. After boarding, all students must take their seats immediately.
  8. The front door of the bus is the only permitted entry and exit.
  9. Buses stop only at designated stops. The list of stops is set for the convenience and safety of all commuters and may change.
  10. While the bus is moving, students must not move around, lean out, or put their hands out of the window.
  11. Nothing may be thrown inside or outside the bus, and eating on the bus is not allowed. Disciplinary action will follow.
  12. Students are responsible for any damage to the bus caused by negligence.
  13. Unruly behaviour is strictly prohibited. A yellow card will be issued to students found guilty.
  14. Parents and students are expected to be courteous to transport staff at all times.
  15. Students must not talk to or distract the driver.
  16. The bus in-charge maintains discipline on the bus. Any serious offence must be reported to the Principal.
  17. Children will not be allowed to board another bus for social engagements. A list of students and their stops is kept on each bus.
  18. Each child is allotted a seat number, which must not be changed.
  19. Samartha may withdraw bus facility on disciplinary grounds. This decision is binding and no requests will be entertained.
  20. Parents should not raise issues with drivers or cleaners; please report them at the administrative block.
